Interrogating the value of Bloom’s Taxonomy

As a teacher, there are numerous learning taxonomies that are available to you. These taxonomies are teaching tools that help you determine how best to build and scaffold your students’ learning. In this video, Professor Robert Lue explores how Bloom’s Taxonomy can be used as a heuristic. In doing so, Professor Lue looks at the original 1956 taxonomy and Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy. Professor Lue also shares his first experiences with Bloom’s Taxonomy and how the taxonomy has influenced his approach to course development and teaching.
