Assignments with the best intentions
You have been provided with various examples of assignments across disciplines. These examples include:
- A sociocultural and linguistic anthropology essay assignment;
- A political science bibliography assignment;
- An integrated English and psychology semester project;
- A mechanical engineering assignment;
- A financial accounting problem set; and
- A marine biology written assignment.
Select at least three examples to analyze. When going through the examples, pay close attention to each assignment’s instructions (and its grading methods) and take note of how clear you perceive them to be. Once you have explored the assignments, reflect on the following questions:
- If you were a student given these assignments, what do you anticipate would be most difficult about completing them? Why do you think so?
- How helpful, clear, and effective were the assignment instructions? What questions or doubts remained for you after reading them? Could the instructor have anticipated these questions better in the original prompt?
Your reflection should not exceed 300 words.
