1. Introduction
How do you know how you are doing as a teacher? Just as in student learning, we can evaluate teaching through both formal and informal methods. Good teachers need to be able to give feedback well, but also understand how to receive feedback and use it to improve their teaching. This set of notes explores the types of feedback that you may receive as a teacher, and suggests ways in which you can use it to improve your teaching. Finally, the notes consider what it means to be a “critically reflective teacher” (Brookfield, 1995).
